commenced!

i graduated over the weekend! well, i actually graduated in december but promised my parents i would attend the ceremony for my graduate degree since i did not do so for my undergraduate degree.
i am really glad i did. it was a great way to officially end an era, filled with all the pomp and circumstance i could hope for. now, I have a robe and a multi-colored hood with so many uses! Harry Potter halloween, here i come!

in other professional news, i got a new job! an assistant director position at a smaller liberal arts college in the area and i couldn't be happier.

here's to new beginnings...

thursday thoughts...

obsessing over: eating solid foods again. i have missed you! My mouth is feeling somewhat better and I am so ready to eat normally, again.

working on: organizing photos for printing, so i can FINALLY start those scrapbooks i have been planning for the past two years :/

thinking about: all the happy changes that have been taking place, recently. eep!

anticipating: how wonderful the next two weekends will be. my master's graduation this weekend and my soulmate, stef's return to baltimore next weekend. i am over the moon excited!

listening to: crickets, outside the window

drinking: water with lemon and patiently waiting for matt to get home, so we can pop open the champagne!

mother's day

happy wednesday!
i am finally on the mend from my wisdom teeth removal, which all in all wasn't as bad as expected. however, i am ready to eat something other than smoothies and mashed potatoes. I am eating a huge cheeseburger as soon as i am able! Before i had my surgery, my brother, jess, matt, and i took my mom on a little mother's day adventure. things haven't always been smooth sailing with my family, but things have been pretty darn wonderful, recently and we wanted to celebrate!

we explored ladew gardens and went for shrimp salad sandwiches, afterwards. a great day to celebrate a great lady!

gonzo

this past weekend was filled with so many good things. one being that i was finally able to give matt his valentine's day gift-a tour of flying dog brewery! matt loves beer and we are lucky to live in maryland, where a lot of great breweries are just a short car ride away. the tours at flying dog are booked about 5 months in advance and well worth the wait.
admittedly, i am not a beer connoisseur and usually enjoy the least beer-tasting beers. regardless, i had a great time learning the history, how the beer is made, and seeing matt so excited.

it is now a countdown until my wisdom teeth surgery, tomorrow-eep!
wish me luck!

an important thought for a wednesday...

hi, everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful week. I hope to be back tonight with tales of breweries and gardens :)

photo an hour...a failed attempt

happy tuesday! i hope everyone is having a great start to their week. this warm weather is giving me a case of spring fever and i find myself daydreaming of ice cream, suntan lotion, and cookouts.

this past weekend was a good one and i thought it be fun document our saturday with a photo an hour. however, after a 3 hour nap and forgetting my camera when we went out saturday night, i had to call it a wash. i was able to do half the day, which i am going to post anyway because, why not?
i may give it another go this weekend because i love to take something and run with it...into the ground

9 a.m., which is actually a pretty late wake up time for me. i have developed an inability to sleep in.
matt doesn't have the same issue.
milo, waiting patiently to be fed.

10 a.m. empty gym.

11 a.m. picking up breakfast/lunch for matt and me

Noon. Getting ready.

1p.m. Thrifting!

2 p.m. coffee break between stores

then came the inevitable nap and forgetfulness. a great weekend, nonetheless!
have a great week!

seeds

i was finally able to get out and dig around in the dirt, today! these plants having been begging to be potted for almost a week. i love gardening; there is something so therapeutic about planting, growing, and getting your hands dirty. i daydream about the day when i can have a true yard and a garden, but for now this little green space suits me just fine!

happy weekend!
